The Kaldera
Resided at one of the most magnificent places in Indonesia, this branding project for The Kaldera sure is something else. The Kaldera is a tourist attraction overlooking Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake in the world. We partnered with Accossa as they brought the first ever luxury prefab concept in Indonesia that uses solar panels for electricity, to the land of Toba.

The name “Kaldera” came from the same word “kaldera” (“caldera” in English), which is a large hollow—often filled with water—that forms after the emptying of a magma chamber in a volcanic eruption. Lake Toba, where The Kaldera is located, is an example of a caldera.
The logo was inspired by houses, paintings, and patterns of the Batak Toba culture. We opted for a lizard’s skin pattern for the logo, because it has a good meaning for the Batak Toba people.

Though prefabricated cabin is a modern concept, our main focus in this project is to highlight the extravagant beauty of Lake Toba and the cultural richness of the Batak Toba tribe.
